Timeshares Oh My!

As I have mentioned in my previous posts, I used to sell timeshare (pre-children and pre-husband). My current friends often ask me tips and tricks to using their timeshare weeks (or points) depending on which you have. While some people are not so fond of timeshare, I think it is a great way to "make" you take a vacation... everyone needs a vacation once in a while!

RCI and Interval Internation (I.I.) are two of the major exchange companies in the timeshare world. How to navigate these two and get the most out of what you have is a questions that comes up the most when conversing about vacationing and timeshares. Navigating RCI and II is definitely a huge concern for a lot of people. Whether you own points or weeks, you probably have some type of connection to RCI or II (which are only trading companies and do not really "own" the properties).  I always recommend the "Timeshare Exchange Bible" to my friends who are struggling with trading or exchanging their weeks. The Timeshare Exchange Bible comes in two editions: The RCI Edition and The Interval International Edition.

If you are interested in either of these books, you can click on the links above or below to check out all they have to offer. It's a small price to pay for something you have invested so much money into!

Pinterest Love

I'm pretty obsessed with Pinterest. My life priorites are something like:

1. Family
2. Health
3. Pinterest

Hahaha.. no, but really.

I saw this on Pinterest, and this is completely how I feel about traveling.

Disney Savings!

As a mom of three, I think it is only fitting to make one of my first posts about traveling about Disney World. Disney World definitely makes all dreams come true, for the older and the younger. Before taking my children to Disney World, I had been twice. After my third child turned 3, I was ready to take the plunge again with my entire family. We had not traveled yet as a family and I had just begun traveling again on my own. While we are fairly financially stable, as a family, my biggest concern (after keeping up with my children) was the cost of the trip. I did not want to stay too far away from the park (packing up the kids and making the haul is tiring enough), I wanted my children to see the fireworks, and I wanted to know the tips and tricks. Thus, my long search began to plan the perfect Disney World vacation. One of my close friends, Holly, who had taken her family to Disney World the previous year recommended the Ultimate Disney World Savings Guide. Ever heard of it? Nope? Me either. Holly was a trusted friend, so I took her advice. The guide was wonderful. I was able to plan almost ever aspect of our trip for a fraction of the price I would have paid if it had not been for the guide. Thank you, Holly! The trip was a complete success. I highly recommend the guide if you are planning to or would like to go to Disney World. You would be amazed at how much you can get for so little money.  Here is the link to where I got my guide. The New Me Includes the Seven Seas

As a part of my transition process to rediscover the woman I left in the past, I informed my husband that I needed to get away (not permanently, of course). I needed to begin traveling again because that is the one thing that I loved to do most before children. Once I had children, traveling was out of the question (which it shouldn't have been, we just did not make it a priority). Other than beach trips, we went no where.

Before I continue, let me take you back to pre-children days. Out of college, and not knowing what I wanted to do with my life, I began selling timeshare. Those were the glory days. Let. me. tell. you. When I traveled, I stayed in places for free or at a highly discounted rate. This opportunity led me all over the continental US, Europe, Canada, Mexico, and several other places around the world.

Those were the days I missed, and while I realized I could not relive my crazy past, I needed a way to mesh the past and the present together. After some heavy negotiating, I finally convinced my husband that I needed a trip alone. A glorious trip with a friend, or my mother, that would bring me back to those wandering roots (oxymoron, right?).

Since those days of convincing my husband, I have made at least eight other big trips. Every time I go away, I come back a different person. It's what I need for me. Once I had children, I forgot what I was all about--I was no longer an individual... I was mom. Now, I can still see myself in all of the craziness which makes my life not only bearable but enjoyable.
